So there’s a couple of things going on here that I just wanted to unpack for everyone. This design is called “vision”. I wanted to do something with a large back print so you’ll see that represented here. The artwork for that print is reference to the “consciousness” design from earlier this season, it’s the same eye drawing used to make up the many eyes on the graphic. I’m reminded of black eyed peas, which are a symbol of good luck. There is a slogan at the bottom saying “DazedNotConfused 2022 VISIONINCARNATE PRESTIDIGITATION LOCALMOTION DOWNTOWNLOSANGELES DOYOUSEEWHATISEE” which I think is self explanatory.

The front of the hoodie is an additional concept that I want to speak on. In graffiti culture it’s customary to “hold down your spot” which means if you’ve written your tag somewhere and you have respect for yourself and your name, you’ll make sure that you keep a good spot for the sake of your legacy. This means visiting your spot regularly to make sure your art is in tact. If you get buffed, you gotta redo the tag. If you get topped, you’ll have to address it either with the person who did the topping if you run into them or you can just elevate your art in the spot to battle for the right to hold it down. So I wanted to demonstrate that concept visually. In this instance, however, I’m tagging on top of my own tag which is indicative of the constant process of improving oneself and one’s own art.

Overall, I think the message of this hoodie is about following your vision and working on yourself. Thank you for reading what I have to say.
